Harnack House

The Harnack House is located in the villa and science district Dahlem, which has been called "German Oxford" for about a hundred years.

Built in 1929 as a guest and conference center of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society, the Harnack House distinguished itself as an international scientific club, especially in its founding years.

It housed high-profile scientists, artists, politicians and industrialists and was the site of political and public events.

After being returned to the Max Planck Society by the US Armed Forces, who used the house as an officers' club until 1994, the house has been the venue of the Max Planck Society since 2000.
