Hospital of the Innocent

The Institute promotes the active rights of children and adolescents as set out in the Convention on the Rights of the Child , adopted in New York on 20 November 1989 and rendered enforceable in Italy by Law May 27, 1991, n. 176. Collaborates with UNICEF- Innocenti Research Center, which is based in the Institute as envisaged by the Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the United Nations Children's Fund signed in New York on September 23rd 1986.

Welcome, responsibility and culture are the values ​​that have characterized its history, which are still at the basis of the statutory goals, which can be traced to three areas:
• study , promotion of childhood culture and training through research, policy monitoring , documentation , information on topics concerning childhood, adolescence, families, motherhood and the condition of women. The Institute takes care of the training and professional updating of those who work with children, young people and families in the educational, training, psychosocial, health and legal fields. In particular, it manages the documentation and monitoring activities of theNational Center for Documentation and Analysis for Children and Adolescents and the Regional Documentation Center for Children and Adolescents , as well as collaborating with many public and private institutions;
• creation and management of social welfare, educational and hospitality services for children, adolescents, families and parents
• activities to protect and enhance their artistic heritage, through the Museum of the Innocents and the activities and initiatives to promote the culture of and for childhood.
