NSANZ is hosting the 14th International Neuromodulation Society (INS) Congress in Sydney from the 25 – 30 May 2019. In association with the Congress, NSANZ is pleased to offer a pre-congress hands-on Cadaver Workshop on Radiofrequency Procedures. The workshop will be held on Saturday 25 May 2019 at Macquarie University, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The clinical program will address hands-on aspects of radiofrequency (RF) interventional pain procedures. It will support those starting out but also cater for the more experienced interventional physician.

Principles of Pediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care is designed for the anesthesiologist and certified registered nurse anesthetist who takes care of pediatric patients in the perioperative setting. The growth and sub-specialization of pediatric anesthesia has identified specific areas that are unique when compared to the general practice of anesthesia. This course will aim to identify the differences between current and optimal care and provide recommendations and hands-on workshops to help participants learn to manage these issues in their practice. Approved for AMA PRA category 1 credits and the course is approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

In 2018 we were challenged to Collaborate. Disseminate. Educate. The year 2019 invites a different posture, as we gather to extend the gains of 2018 while reflecting on The IASP Year Against Pain in the Most Vulnerable.

The Scientific Program Committee has curated a stellar cast of not-to-be-missed national and international speakers including: Professor Beth Darnall (Department of Anesthesiology, Stanford University: prevention of post surgical pain, targeted psychological strategies, opiod reduction); Dr Nanna Finnerup (Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, Denmark: pathophysiology and therapy of neuropathic pain); and Professor Tor Wager (Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience laboratory, University of Colorado: neurophysiology of pain and emotion, affective learning, and brain-body communication).
